Jawlio - Face Yoga & Jawline Exercises

Jawlio is a guided routine player for face exercises — the kind of movements often called face yoga. It contains 60 exercises grouped by area (jawline, chin and neck, cheeks, mouth and smile lines, eyes, forehead, tongue posture, lymphatic de-puffing massage and relaxation), each with a pictogram and short step-by-step instructions.

Instead of searching for videos every day, you press play and Jawlio runs the session for you: it announces each exercise, counts repetitions or seconds, tells you when to switch sides and moves on automatically. Sessions take three to six minutes, which makes them easy to fit in after brushing your teeth or during a desk break.

Two 30-day plans give you a structured programme, quick routines cover moments like a morning de-puff or a bedtime wind-down, and a calendar and streak counter show how consistent you have been. You can also turn on the camera as a mirror to check your form; the video is shown only on your screen and is not recorded or uploaded.

The app runs entirely in your browser. What you enter is saved only on this device.

How to use Jawlio

  1. Pick today's session. The Today tab shows the next day of the Jawline & Double Chin plan and the Lift & Glow plan, plus quick routines such as Morning De-Puff, Desk Break Reset and Bedtime Wind-Down. Tap the play button on a plan, or tap a routine to see its exercises and then Start Session.
  2. Follow the player. Each exercise shows a pictogram, its name and a ring that counts down seconds or repetitions. A voice reads the name and the steps in your language when your browser has a matching voice. Use the arrows to go back or skip, and the pause button when you need a moment.
  3. Use the mirror (optional). Tap the camera icon in the player to show your front camera as a mirror behind the instructions. Your browser asks for permission first; nothing is recorded.
  4. Explore the library. The Library tab lists all exercises, filterable by area, with instructions you can read at your own pace.
  5. Build your own routine. In Plans, create a custom routine from any exercises and adjust the seconds for each (up to two custom routines on the web).
  6. Track your progress. Finishing a session marks the day on the calendar, advances your plan and updates your streak and total time in the Progress tab.

Features

Face exercises: what they can and can't do

The muscles involved

The face contains dozens of small muscles that move the skin directly — they create expressions rather than moving joints. Around the jaw, the masseter and temporalis close the mouth when you chew; under the chin, the platysma (a thin sheet running down the neck) and the muscles around the hyoid bone help with swallowing and opening the mouth. Face exercises ask these muscles to work in slow, deliberate ways, usually combined with gentle stretching and breathing.

Realistic expectations

Research on facial exercise is still limited. A small study published in JAMA Dermatology in 2018 reported modest improvements in the appearance of the upper and lower cheeks in middle-aged women after 20 weeks of daily practice, but it was small and had no control group. Many factors that shape the lower face — genetics, bone structure, skin elasticity, body fat and age — are not changed by exercise. Face exercises are best seen as a relaxing routine that may help with muscle tone, posture awareness and morning puffiness, not as a substitute for medical or cosmetic treatment.

Puffiness in the morning is often related to fluid that collects during sleep. Gentle massage strokes towards the lymph nodes of the neck, staying hydrated and limiting late salty meals are commonly suggested ways to reduce it.

Doing the exercises safely

Move slowly and stay well within a comfortable range. Facial and jaw muscles are small; pushing hard or holding painful positions can strain them. If you grind your teeth, have jaw clicking or pain (temporomandibular disorders), recent dental work, facial nerve problems, skin conditions or have had cosmetic injections or surgery, ask your doctor or dentist which movements are appropriate. Stop any exercise that causes pain, headache or dizziness.

Use clean hands for massage movements, and avoid pulling the skin around the eyes.

Building the habit

Consistency matters more than intensity. A short session at the same time every day — linked to something you already do, like brushing your teeth — is easier to keep than long, occasional sessions. Before-and-after photos taken in the same light and angle are more reliable than memory for judging changes over weeks.

Frequently asked questions

Is Jawlio free to use in the browser?

Yes. The plans, quick routines, library, player and progress tracking work without an account. Some extras, such as unlimited custom routines, more photos, detailed statistics and backup, are available in the phone app.

Where is my data stored?

Only in this browser on this device: your sessions and plan progress in its built-in database and any photos in its local storage. Nothing is uploaded. Clearing site data for this website, or using a private window, deletes everything.

Is the camera recorded?

No. The mirror simply shows your camera on screen while you exercise. Photos are only saved if you take one in the photo feature, and they stay in this browser.

Why don't I hear the voice?

Voice guidance uses your browser's speech voices. Make sure the device isn't muted and that voice guidance is on in Settings. If your browser has no voice for your language, the session still runs with on-screen cues.

How often should I do the exercises?

The plans are built for one short session a day with a lighter day each week. Rest if your face or jaw feels sore.

How is the web version different from the phone app?

The routines and player are the same. Reminders are not available on the web because notifications can't be delivered when the page is closed, and Premium is sold only in the iPhone and Android app.
