NoSmoke - Quit Smoking Tracker
NoSmoke is a simple counter for the moment you decide to stop smoking. You enter how many cigarettes you used to smoke a day and what a pack cost, press Start Quitting, and from that second on the page counts up: how long you have been smoke-free, down to the second, how many cigarettes you have not smoked, how much money you have kept, and a rough estimate of life regained.
Quitting is often hardest in the first days and weeks, and seeing progress in concrete numbers can help on difficult afternoons. Watching the money saved climb is a practical motivator, and many people like to decide in advance what they will spend it on.

How to use NoSmoke
- Complete the initial setup. Enter the number of cigarettes you smoked per day and the price you paid per pack. These are used to calculate cigarettes avoided and money saved.
- Press Start Quitting. The counter starts at that moment. Press it when you smoke your last cigarette or when you begin your quit day.
- Watch your progress. The main screen shows Smoke-Free Duration in days, hours, minutes and seconds, Cigarettes Avoided, Money Saved and Life Extended, all updating live.
- Adjust your settings. Open Settings to change cigarettes per day or the pack price if you entered them wrongly or prices change.
- If you slip. Press the Smoke button and confirm. The counter resets so you can start again with Start Quitting whenever you are ready. A slip is common and doesn't erase what you learned.

What to expect when you stop smoking
How NoSmoke calculates its numbers
Cigarettes avoided are your daily amount spread evenly over 24 hours and multiplied by the time since you started. Money saved divides that number by 20, a common pack size, and multiplies by your pack price. Life extended uses a widely quoted rough estimate of about 11 minutes per cigarette. That last figure is a motivational approximation, not a personal medical calculation.
Early changes
Health services commonly describe benefits that begin soon after the last cigarette: within days, carbon monoxide levels in the blood fall and taste and smell may start to improve; over the following weeks and months, many people find breathing and circulation feel better. Long-term risks of serious diseases fall over years. Everyone's experience is different, and your doctor can tell you what applies to you.
Cravings and withdrawal
Nicotine withdrawal can bring cravings, irritability, restlessness, trouble concentrating, increased appetite and poor sleep. These are usually strongest in the first few weeks and ease over time. Individual cravings typically pass within minutes, so having a plan for those minutes helps: drink a glass of water, go for a short walk, chew gum, breathe slowly, or open NoSmoke and look at the counter.
Know your triggers
Many cigarettes are tied to habits: coffee, the end of a meal, a work break, driving, alcohol or stress. Changing the routine around those moments, such as taking a break in a different place or switching drinks for a while, makes it easier to break the link. Telling friends, family and colleagues that you are quitting gives you support and reduces offers of cigarettes.
Help is available
Combining willpower with support increases the chance of success. Doctors, pharmacists and national quitlines can explain the options available where you live, including counselling and stop-smoking treatments, and can help you choose what suits you. Asking for help is a strength, not a sign that you can't do it alone.
If you slip
Many people make several attempts before stopping for good. If you smoke, think about what led to it and plan how to handle that situation next time, then start again. Each attempt teaches you something about your habits.
Frequently asked questions
Where is my data stored?
Only in this browser on this device. There is no account and nothing is uploaded. Clearing your browser data or switching browsers resets the counter.
Can I set a quit date in the past?
No. The counter starts when you press Start Quitting. If you already stopped earlier, you can still use it to track from today.
Is the life extended number accurate?
It is a rough, general estimate meant for motivation, not a medical prediction. Your health depends on many factors only a professional can assess.
My packs have 25 cigarettes. Is money saved wrong?
The calculation assumes 20 per pack. You can adjust by entering the price of 20 cigarettes instead of the full pack price.
How is the web version different from the phone app?
The counters are the same. The iPhone and Android apps let you check your progress without opening a browser.
Limitations of the web version
- The counter always starts from the moment you press Start Quitting
- Money saved assumes 20 cigarettes per pack
- No history of past attempts or reminders
- Data stays in one browser
