PetSync - Pet Health Log
PetSync is a small health notebook for your animals. Each pet gets a profile with a photo, species, breed, age, weight and birthday, and every visit to the vet or treatment at home can be logged as a health record with the date, type, veterinarian, notes and a picture.
It is useful when the vet asks when the last vaccination was, when a pet-sitter needs to know what medication was given, or when you simply want to see how often your dog has had ear problems this year. Households with several animals can keep them all in one list.
PetSync works in your browser with no sign-up. Profiles, records and photos are saved in this browser on this device.
The app runs entirely in your browser. What you enter is saved only on this device.
How to use PetSync
- Add a pet. Tap Add New Pet (or + at the top). Enter a name, choose Dog, Cat, Bird or Other, and fill in the breed, age, weight and birthday. Tap the camera circle to add a photo from your device, then tap Add Pet.
- Open a profile. Tap a pet in the list to see its details and the health records that belong to it. From there you can edit the profile or change the photo.
- Log a health record. Open the Health Records tab and tap Add New Record. Pick the pet, the date and the type (Regular Checkup, Vaccination, Treatment or Dental Checkup), then add the veterinarian's name, notes and an optional photo such as a receipt or a vaccine label.
- Find past visits. Records are listed newest first. Type in the search box to filter by pet name, type, notes, veterinarian or date.
- Look at an attached photo. Tap a record's photo to open it full screen and pinch or scroll to zoom in on small print.
- Tidy up. Records can be deleted from the record view, and a pet can be removed from its profile when you no longer need it.

What to keep in a pet health record
The basics vets ask for
When you visit a new clinic, board your pet or travel, the same questions come up: date of birth or approximate age, weight, vaccination dates, any ongoing medication, past surgeries and known allergies. Keeping those answers in one place saves phone calls and guesswork, especially if you have more than one animal.
Weight is worth recording at every visit. Gradual weight gain or loss is easy to miss when you see your pet every day, and many medications are dosed by body weight.
Vaccinations and preventive care
Vaccination schedules depend on species, age, lifestyle and local rules, so follow your veterinarian's plan rather than a generic list. What helps is writing down exactly what was given and when: the vaccine name, the date and, if the clinic gives you a sticker or certificate, a photo of it. The same goes for flea, tick and worm prevention.
A record with the date and type makes it easy to answer 'is she up to date?' without digging through paperwork.
Noting symptoms usefully
If something seems off, short factual notes are more helpful than impressions. Write what you saw, when it started, how often it happens and anything that changed, such as new food, a move or a new pet. Photos of skin problems, swelling or unusual stools can help a vet see what you saw.
Bring the information to the appointment rather than trying to interpret it yourself. Sudden changes in breathing, collapse, suspected poisoning or bleeding need a vet straight away, not a log entry.
Dental and routine checkups
Dental disease is common in adult cats and dogs and often goes unnoticed. Logging dental checkups and cleanings alongside annual exams helps you keep track of when the next one may be due.
Signs worth mentioning to your vet include bad breath, red gums, dropping food or chewing on one side. Older pets often benefit from more frequent checkups, so a simple dated history makes those conversations easier.
Frequently asked questions
Where is my data stored?
Only in this browser on this device: profiles and records in local storage and photos in the browser's database. There is no account and nothing is uploaded. Clearing site data, using a private window or switching browsers or devices means you won't see your pets there.
Can I share records with family or a pet-sitter?
Not directly, because nothing is synced. The easiest way is to show the screen or take a screenshot of the record.
Which animals can I add?
Dogs, cats and birds have their own icons, and Other covers rabbits, reptiles, fish and any other animal.
Does it send reminders for vaccinations?
No. It is a log of what happened; it does not schedule or remind.
What is different from the phone app?
The iPhone and Android apps keep data and photos on the phone and show ads that a one-time purchase removes. The web version has no ads or purchases, and data stays in your browser instead.
Limitations of the web version
- No reminders or notifications
- No sync or backup between devices
- Large numbers of photos use browser storage, which some browsers limit
